Coffee in Bangkok

Sometimes you get a coffee that makes you stop what you’re doing because it’s so good. You stop everything and just admire the cup for a moment and say something like: “that is one fine cup of coffee”. If you’re a coffee person, you know what I’m talking about.

How to work around the Debian installer hanging at 5% on software selection
Home, Elsternwick, Australia, 2007-11-25 13:02 +1000
The Debian apt system is awesome - it makes it incredibly easy to install new software onto a Debian box. It’s Achilles heel is the central repositories that host all the software packages. Making the whole world rely on just a couple of repository servers makes those servers very important, and means that when bad data gets into those servers, it causes problems for people all over the world.
Automated Tomcat / mod_jk / Apache httpd Setup
Home, Elsternwick, Australia, 2007-11-25 11:43 +1000
Getting Apache HTTPD and Tomcat to talk to each other via mod_jk is one of those things that always seems to be a painful task. I think this is because of two things. First, there are innumerable ways of configuring Apache HTTPD, and the locations and names of the configuration files may differ depending on your Linux distro, and who built your Apache binaries. Second, while there are many explanations of how to set up HTTPD / mod_jk / Tomcat, most explanations are copy-and-paste configuration dumps with not much explanation of how it all hangs together and what all the configurations mean.

I’m always ducking into the man page for find - the syntax never seems to stick for me, so this my online MRU list of find commands:

Often while naming variables or methods I’ve noticed that some related words have the same number of characters. I love this because it makes your code so much prettier, and I started keeping notes of these paired words. Here’s what I’ve found so far:
